The Storm Rolling In

Snowy Night in Columbia City

Talk of the Town photo by Jennifer Zartman Romano

By 9 p.m. Tuesday evening, the snow had already began forming a downy blanket of white over Whitley County. Downtown Columbia City, above, looked positively magical as the snow fell, further adding to an already beautiful streetscape of holiday lights and seasonal storefront displays.
The local weather forecast calls for up to three inches of snowfall Tuesday night followed by snow throughout the day on Wednesday -- with up to four more inches of accumulation. Temperatures may drop to the teens by Wednesday night.
As of 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, Faith Christian Academy, Smith-Green Community Schools, Whitley County Consolidated Schools and Whitko Community Schools are all closed for the day.
