Thank you, Megan Devito!

Talk of the Town reader Megan Devito looked at the weather photographs we posted yesterday and knew right away what they were -- altocumulus clouds. Not only was she the first to respond with lightning speed, she also provided photos as proof! Thanks, Megan!

Hope you don't mind if I provide a little additional info on the cloud pictures. They are alto cumulus, but in addition they are of the genus Mamatus. Refering to the undulations on the bottom of the cloud mass. This indicates a significant amount of turbulence and can be associated with tornadic activity.
