On Saturday and again on Monday, Faith Christian Academy hosted fundraisers that were well-supported by the community.

“Faith Christian Academy is humbled by this community and their support,” said school administrator Pastor Larry Schmoekel.

On Saturday, students, parents, staff and board members sold Nelson’s Chicken in the Wal-mart Parking lot.

“For the first time in a looong time we sold out,” Schmoekel said. “Our bake sale at the same time also went well and was great training for our fundraiser on Monday at McDonald’s.”

The non-profit Christian school’s teachers and principal worked from 5-8 p.m. and McDonald’s gave the school 20% of the proceeds from food and beverages sold during that time.

“Thanks to your hearty appetites we raised a little over $ 450 from our percentage of the sales,” Schmoekel added. “What a huge accomplishment – and so many thanks to McDonald’s for this awesome event.”

For more information on Faith Christian Academy, contact the school office Tuesday-Friday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at 248-4872.
