The Center for Whitley County Youth hosted their highly successful fifth annual cookoff event last Thursday at First Church of God in Columbia City. More than 400 local residents reserved a spot at the event which raises funds for The Center, an after-school program for at-risk youth. Initial fundraising was tallied at $18,184, but by Friday morning, the figure jumped to $24,309 and was expected to continue to rise as gifts are still being accepted.
