Trick or treating planned for October 31 in Columbia City

By Jennifer Zartman Romano

While Halloween is still weeks away, as the leaves begin to turn colors in the next few weeks -- young ones thoughts will turn to their creative ideas for Halloween costumes.
The City of Columbia City has already announced their trick or treat times for 2013. This year, trick or treating will be held on Halloween night, October 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. in Columbia City.
Also that evening, the Columbia City Fire Department will be handing out free candy and glow sticks at the fire station in downtown Columbia City.
Local government officials urge citizens to use caution that evening as hundreds of children will be going door to door throughout Columbia City looking for their favorite candy. Watch for little ones darting into traffic, remove hazards from local sidewalks and remain vigilant for safety's sake.
