'Water for Life' fundraiser combines jazz and barbecue to raise funds for Haitian ministry

By Tim Scroggs

What do Jazz music, water, and Haiti have in common? The Water for Life benefit dinner and concert!
On May 14, 2014, Eagle Quest Church and the CCHS Jazz band are joining forces to present a special evening of smooth jazz music and delicious food catered by Bruno’s Barbeque. All proceeds will benefit Water Project for Haiti, a ministry of Project Help Haiti.
Project Help Haiti provides sustainable water filter systems for Haitian families. These filter systems effectively remove up to 99% of the containments in the water supply, greatly reducing sickness and disease. The systems are manufactured in Haiti with Haitian resources and can be installed for only $50 per unit. They produce clean water for up to 20 years.
Everyone deserves clean and pure water. We take this for granted in the United States. By simply purchasing a ticket to enjoy an evening of great music and food, you can help provide this life-saving resource for many Haitian families. All proceeds will be matched dollar for dollar with a grant.
The Benefit is being held on May 14 at 6:30 pm at the church, located at 1120 N SR 109. Tickets cost $8 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under. Tickets can be purchased at B & E Computers and Bruno's Barbeque, 501 N Line St, or by calling 609-1482. Tickets will also be sold at the door and carry-out orders are available.
Water for Life would like to thank the following sponsors for making this event possible:
Bruno's Barbeque, 3 Rivers FCU, Rhoades Automotive, Flow-Tech, Schrader Real Estate and Auction, Beck Enterprises and Rabb Kinetico Water.
