Changes coming to downtown Columbia City

A structure that has long been criticized by those working to revitalize downtown Columbia City came crashing down Saturday. The overhang attached to the west half of the Central Block building in downtown Columbia City was removed by remodeling crews Saturday morning, delighting many who've been eager to see it go and ready for facade work to begin along that block. Several facade projects are reportedly planned along that block this spring. Richmond Construction was selected to do the work on the western portion of the Central Block building.
