Remembering our Vietnam Veterans

(Talk of the Town photos by Jennifer Zartman Romano)
Many onlookers circled back or paused to reflect at the new Whitley County Vietnam memorial on the Whitley County Courthouse lawn. On Tuesday, crews from Wearly Monuments, above and below, carefully installed the monument and adjacent benches for reflection. The installation was made on the northwest corner of the courthouse lawn. Ty Murphy, who spearheaded the project, and Richard Stark of the American Legion Post 98 were among those present to observe the placement, sharing thanks and gratitude to all who helped support the initiative. The monument will be formally dedicated on November 11, 2017.
