This year, Artlink Contemporary Gallery will debut its new artisan marketplace, The Art Market, at Taste of the Arts on Saturday, August 26, 2017, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The Art Market is a curated marketplace featuring the best in contemporary craft and handmade goods. The Art Market strives to bring the highest quality handmade goods to the people of Fort Wayne, Indiana. This new art market stands apart from other outdoor artisan markets by providing a diverse selection of local and non-local handmade goods with an indie twist.
Unlike traditional art markets, the majority of the items that will be on display are everyday items for the home. Artlink imagines a world in which art and design is an everyday part of life through everyday objects. Featured local businesses include Gloves by Katherine, featuring designer garden gloves, dish gloves, and oven mitts, Sommer Letter Co., specializing in stationery and gifts featuring beautiful watercolor designs, and Knotoday, creating hand-knotted macrame plant hangers and wall hangings. In total, The Art Market will feature 23 artists and makers.
