Whitley County Lighted Christmas Parade is Friday evening

Committee members are busy working on the final details for the annual Whitley County Lighted Christmas Parade in downtown Columbia City on Friday, November 24, 2017, beginning at 6 p.m.
More than 20 floats are planned for this year's parade featuring lights, music and excitement to start the holiday season with ceremony and celebration. Organizers are pleased that the weather report seems to be mild.
The sixth annual parade will begin on Van Buren Street at Walnut Street, continuing eastward to Chauncey Street and then south. Immediately following the parade, there will be a tree lighting ceremony with Santa Claus on the Whitley County Courthouse lawn.
