Whitley County Pork Producers' show slated for July 5

The Whitley County Pork Producers will be sponsoring a Swine Evaluation Show (Carcass Show) on Thursday, July 5 at 7 p.m. in the Showbarn at the Whitley County Fairgrounds. Weigh-in will be from 4 to 6 p.m. There will be awards for the Grand & Reserve Champions. Ribbons will be awarded to all participants in the show.

Rules for the event are as follows:
1) Open to Whitley County residents or Whitley County 4-H Swine members ONLY.
2) Two entries allowed per person.
3) Provide your own bedding. You must do your own clean-up. A spreader will be provided. Penalties assessed for not cleaning out pens.
4) There will be separate shows for 4-H & Open Classes.
5) Animals will be divided into classes according to weight.
6) Only barrows may be shown.
7) Barrows must weight 220# to 290# to be eligible for on-foot and evaluation awards, however all animals are eligible for the live show. (Underweight & overweight classes provided)
8) Barrows must weigh at least 220# to receive market bid price.
9) A $10 entry fee will be deducted from each check.
10) Barrows will be electronically scanned for lean evaluation.
11) Evaluation awards and checks will be given during the 4-H Swine Barrow Show on July 17.
12) Not responsible for accidents.
13) This is a terminal show.
