The Whitley County Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center is pleased to announce that State Senator Andy Zay, State Representative Christopher Judy and State Representative David Abbott will be in attendance for the 2019 Annual Chamber Legislative Update meeting.

The meeting, which is open to the public, will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Whitley County Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center, 128 West Van Buren Street in downtown Columbia City. The event is sponsored by NIPSCO and the Regional Chamber of Northeast Indiana.

"We plan our Legislative Update meetings each year to enable our members and our greater community to engage, first hand, with our elected officials," said Jennifer Romano, executive director of the Whitley County Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center. "This provides an outstanding opportunity for our local business leaders to hear what's happening in State government and share their concerns about important issues in a personal, timely way."

This event marks the first time newly-elected State Representative David Abbott will be participating in the event. Abbott was selected by a caucus in the spring of 2018 and won his election for the seat in the November General Election to represent District 82 which covers a portion of Whitley County.

"We are very excited to welcome State Representative Abbott to our event for the first time this year," Romano added.

Light refreshments will be served. Seating is limited.
