Chester Krasienko, 86, of Huntington , passed away at 1:25 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at Parkview North Hospital , Huntington. 
Born on July 15, 1921, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of John M. and Mary (Marek) Krasienko.
He spent most of his lifetime in Fort Wayne and since 1973 lived in Huntington. He graduated from Central High School , Fort Wayne , with the Class of 1940 and he graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He served in the United States Army.
On July 21, 1951, he married JoEllen Shanley at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Fort Wayne. He was an engineer at General Electric in Fort Wayne for 36 years while also owning and operating the family farm. He was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Fort Wayne Engineers and active in a variety of sports.
Survivors include his wife, JoEllen Krasienko of Huntington; two daughters, Mary Francine (Michael) Hahn of South Bend and Jane (Mark) Trabert of Columbia City; a son, John (Terri) Krasienko of Ponte Verde, Florida; five grandchildren, Adam, Marie, Chelsea, Kyle, and Alan Trabert; two sisters, Genieve Ditton of New Haven and Regina Morris of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Stephen and Henry Krasienko.
Visitation is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2008 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, with prayer vigil at 7:30 p.m. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2008 at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Nix Settlement, State Road 9 South, Columbia City, with visitation from 9-10:00 a.m. and Father Larry Kramer officiating. Burial will follow at St. Catherine's Cemetery, Columbia City.
