Geneva Burnis Christlieb

Geneva Burnis Christlieb of Columbia City, died Thursday, February 28, 2008 in Jacksonville, Florida.
Born on May 17, 1924 in Churubusco, she was the daughter of Silas Jay Keister and Vera Berniece (Bills) Keister Cummins. She graduated with the Class of 1942 from Churubusco High School, Churubusco. On October 20, 1946, she was united in marriage to Charles E. Christlieb in Columbia City.
She was a former resident of Fort Wayne, Chicago and Plymouth. She moved to Jacksonville, Florida, in 1998.
In addition to being a devoted wife, homemaker and mother, Mrs. Christlieb was employed for 6 years as a cannery machine operator at Pilgrim Farms in Plymouth. She was a member of the Union Church of the Brethren and AARP.
Survivors include sons, A. Duane (Betty) Christlieb of Airgood, South Dakota, Andy Christlieb of Jacksonville, Florida, and Jay Edward Christlieb of Hanletsburg, Indiana; daughters, Barbara (Levin) Robbins of Somerset, Kentucky, Phyllis Croff of Bronston, Kentucky, and Frances Mattern of Jacksonville, Florida; step-son, Bernard Christlieb of Fort Wayne; step-daughters, Virginia Lincoln of Fort Wayne and Janice Smith of Auburn; 45 grandchildren, 112 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Garland K. (Betty) Keister of Poe, Indiana, Arthur Orin (Cindy) Cummins of Columbia City; sister, Georgia Marie (Larry) Lock of Larwill.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant sister, Lowella Cummins, step-daughter, Georgia May Christlieb Seizemore, step-sons, Leonard, Kedrick and Edward Christlieb, and granddaughter, Tiffany Gashorn.
Visitation is 11 a.m.-2 p.m. with funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2008 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, ColumbiaCity, IN. DeMoney-Grimes Certified Funeral Celebrants, Eddie P. Beagles and Sharon Brockhaus will officiate. Burial will follow at Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam, Noble County.
Memorial bequests may be given in Mrs. Christlieb's memory to the Whitley County Senior Center. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
