M. Margaret Zumbrun, 91, a former resident of Columbia City, died Thursday, March 27, 2008 in the Ephrata Manor Nursing Home in Ephrata, Pennsylvania.
She was born October 10, 1916 in Coesse, Indiana a daughter of Ray O. and Mary M. (Mossman) Staley. Her formative years were spent in Whitley County. She graduated from Columbia City High School in 1935.
On July 11, 1936 she was united in marriage to Ted Zumbrun. They made their home in Noble County until 1958 when they moved to Whitley County. They moved into Columbia City in 1992. Mr. Zumbrun died March 10, 2003. Margaret moved to the Ephrata Assisted Living Home in May 2003.
A homemaker, she was employed at Blue Bell for 20 years.
Surviving relatives include a son, Lynn S. Zumbrun of Columbia City; a daughter, Jo Ellen Zumbrun of Lititz, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Tracy Zumbrun and Yvonne Nichols; and three great grandsons, Justin, Ethan & Evan Nichols.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 31, 2008 at Blue River Church of the Brethren, 3040 E 700 North, Columbia City with Rev. Craig Myers, church pastor, officiating. The burial will be in Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam. The visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City and one hour before the service at the church on Monday.
