Verda K. Shepherd, age 98, of Kansas City , Missouri, and a former Columbia City resident, died at 1:55 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2008 at Armour Home , Kansas City, Missouri.
Born in Warsaw on February 14, 1910, she was the daughter of Henry and Maud Estella (Rowe) Oswalt.
She lived in Milford, Fort Wayne, Columbia City and Venice, Florida, before moving to Kansas City. She graduated from high school and married Fred E. Shepherd on December 12, 1933. She was a housewife and a member of Milford Christian Church, Milford , Indiana.
She is survived by her son-in-law, John E. Replogle of Venice, Florida; three granddaughters, Becky Replogle-Wilkes of Kansas City; Kathi Shaffer of Kingsport, Tennessee; and Brenda Replogle of Kansas City.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Fred E. Shepherd, a daughter, Nancy Replogle, three sisters, Helen Ruch, Pauline Marvel and Alta Shepherd and one brother, Francis Oswalt.
At the request of Mrs. Shepherd, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Burial will be take place at South Park Cemetery , Columbia City .
