Woodrow "Woody" M. Underwood, Jr., 63

Woodrow “Woody” M. Underwood, Jr., 63, of Fort Wayne, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 20, 2008, at home after a long bout with cancer. Woodrow Underwood
He was a well respected elder at The Edgewood Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
He was a tool maker and master machinist at Kunkle Valve for 29 years and also served as a C&C operator for Alliance Tool and Equipment for an additional 12 years.
"Woody was a kind and caring man known for helping everyone. He was also a dedicated family man and father who loved to travel. He will be missed much by his family and friends. You're a loved man Dad."
He is survived by his mother, Mary V. Underwood; brother, Mark D. Underwood; children, Jill (Bob) Romine, Janeen (Brad) Miller, Janet (Troy) Bennett, and Jonathan (Laura) Underwood; and nine grandchildren.
"We would like to give special thanks for the expert and professional care provided by Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home. Their loving devotion and dedication towards Woody and the family was a true blessing. All nurses involved went far beyond the call of duty, treating him like he was their own."
A memorial service was held at 6 p.m. Sunday at Edgewood Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 6427 Blackstone Drive, Fort Wayne.
The family respectfully requests that any memorials be made to Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home, 5910 Homestead Road, Fort Wayne IN 46814.
