Arlis Irene Trumbull, 84, a resident of The Oaks, Columbia City, died at 2:07 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2008. 
She was born January 30, 1924 in Whitley County, a daughter of Willis D. and Edith J. (Beaucha) Trumbull. She spent her formative years in Etna-Troy Township where she attended elementary school and graduated from Columbia City High School in 1941.
A life long resident of Etna-Troy Township, she was employed by Agriculture Conservation Service, Whitley County from 1943 to 1972. She was then employed by Whitley County Planning Commission from 1972 to the early 1980’s when she left to care for her mother.
She was a member of West Etna Community Church, Etna Rebekah Lodge and Whitley County Farm Bureau.
Surviving relatives include a sister, Jean M. Reasoner, Pensacola, Florida; three nieces, Cheryl (J. Hudson) Thayer, Mansfield, Ohio, Anita (Raymond) Reasoner-Meyer, Indianapolis, and Lisa J. Reasoner, Monticello, Florida; three nephews, Barry Reasoner, Tell City, Indiana, David (Michelle) Reasoner, Columbus, Georgia, and Eric Reasoner, Boston, Massachusetts.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Lewis M. Trumbull.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2008 at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with Rev. J. Hudson Thayer, officiating. The burial will be in Thorn Cemetery, Noble County. The visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
