Jon M. Nei, 41, of Albion, was pronounced dead early Saturday morning, March 29, 2008 at Parkview Noble Hospital, in Kendallville, where he was transported after collapsing in LaOtto.
He was born August 27, 1966 in Columbia City, a son of James Phillip and Peggy A. (Raypole) Nei. His formative years were spent in Columbia City. He graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1984.
Since July 1990, he has been employed at Asphalt Drum Mixers. He was formerly employed at White Automotive and Holmes Lumber Co.
On June 1, 1996 he was united in marriage to Deanna Beard. They made their first home in Columbia City, moving to their present home in June 1997.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Deanna; a son and daughter at home, Ethan and Bianca; a brother, James M. Nei of Fort Wayne; and a sister, Cheryl Houlihan of Huntertown.
His parents preceded him in death.
The memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 2008 at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. The visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
