Thomas C. Harmes

Thomas C. Harmes, 73, formerly of Corunna, died Saturday, April 26, 2008, at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
On Sept. 22, 1934, he was born to late Theodore K. "Ted" and Anna (Vogtman) Harmes in Corunna.
Mr. Harmes was a shop foreman and also an inspector at A-1 Production in Kendallville for 23 years. He retired in 1994.
He served in the U.S. Army two years and also in the National Guard for three years. He was a member of the Kendallville American Legion Post 86.
He was a member of First Christian Church of Kendallville.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Scott D. and Beth Harmes of Columbia City; daughter, Lori Lynn Harmes (fiancé Todd Scandling) of Albion; six grandchildren, including Nick Harmes, Emilee Harmes, Thomas Harmes, Mollie (Greg) Bryant, Colton Harmes and Katelyn Scandling; a great-granddaughter, Ava Bryant; a brother, Donald "Max" Harmes of Waterloo; sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Ernie Ladd of Fort Wayne; and sister-in-law, Juanita Harmes of Corunna.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Harmes, and a sister, Marjorie "Janet" Sullivan.
The funeral service is 1 p.m. Tuesday at Feller Funeral Home, Waterloo, with visitation two hours prior to service. Rev. Al Black officiating. Visitation also from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial in Fairfield Cemetery, Corunna.
Preferred memorials to American Legion Post 86.
