Jesse H. Fulk, age 92, a resident of rural LaOtto, Indiana died Saturday May 10, 2008 at his residence.
Jesse was born February 19, 1916 in Ege, a son of the late Frank and Bertha (Eberly) Fulk.
He lived his entire life in the Ege and LaOtto areas. He was a 1934 graduate of the LaOtto High School, and as a young man entered the US Army in 1945. After serving in the Army, he worked at the International Harvester Company in Fort Wayne for 35 years, retiring in 1972. He also farmed for many years.
Jesse was united in marriage on August 21, 1937, to Mary Jane Gump, who died May 31, 1982. He was a member of the Cedar Creek Church of the Brethren and loved to hunt, fish and especially enjoyed cutting wood.
His second marriage was to Sara Lue Miller Orcutt. She preceded him in death in 2006.
Surviving are his children Marilyn (Robert) Wiant, Beverly (Duane) Rowe, both of Wolcottville, Jesse “Sam” (Sharon) Fulk of Angola; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his first wife, Mary Jane, and his second wife, Sara Lue, he was also preceded in death by his parents, siblings Melvin Fulk, Velda Sherwood, Ruth Livergood, Paul Fulk and grandson Mike Korff.
Funeral services were held May 13, 2008 at the Sheets and Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco with Pastor Brad Hardesty officiating. Burial followed in the Eel River Cemetery located in rural Allen County.
