Gene F. Jackson, 79, of Fort Wayne, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2008.

Born April 18, 1929, in Carlos, Randolph County, Indiana, he was the son of Irvin and Lillie Russell (Strahan) Jackson. He attended school in Lynn, Indiana.

He was very enthusiastic about aviation and served as 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force. Gene worked for Boeing Aircraft, Cessna Aircraft, Magnavox Corp., General Dynamics and ITT, as well as owning his own business of American Equity Builders, Inc. in St. Petersburg, Florida.

He was a proud member of many organizations, including the Masonic Lodge, Shrine Temple, National Aviation Club, The Republican Senatorial Inner Circle and the American Legion.

He is survived by his four daughters, Marta (Michael) Vaillancort of Fort Wayne, Laura (Michael) Champion of Delton, Michigan, Rhonda (Michael) McClure of Churubusco and Gina (Toney) Malloris of Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A private family service to be held Wednesday at Thomas Memorial Chapel of Lynn, Indiana. Burial to follow at Buena Vista Cemetery of Unionport, Ind.
