Margaret E. Teghtmeyer, 90

Margaret E. Teghtmeyer, 90, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw. She was born on August 30, 1917, in Warsaw, to Edward & Alta (Herron) Mauzy.

On November 26, 1936, she married Earl L. Teghtmeyer. He preceded her in death in 1966.

A lifetime area resident, she retired in 1978 from Teghtmeyer Ace Hardware that she and her late husband started in 1944.

She was a member of the North Webster Church of the Brethren, a 30-year volunteer with the Kosciusko County Chapter of the American Red Cross, where she received a Governor's Commendation for volunteerism. She was also a charter member of the Warsaw Chapter of Altrusa.

Survivors include a son,  Larry E. (Cathy) Teghtmeyer of Tippecanoe Lake, a daughter-in –law, Connie Nestle of Arizona; 10 grandchildren including Nickey Teghtmeyer, Alicia (Doug) Johnson, Lori (Jim) Pfeiffer, Jennifer (Josh) Boren, Tammy (Warren) Hawkins, Adam Suchecki, Angela (Eric) Irwin, Tricia (Mike) Welk, Eric (Laura) Suchecki, Greg Techtmeyer; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, James E. Teghtmeyer, and her sister, Harriet.

Services will be private. Burial will take place at the North Webster Cemetery, Mock Addition. Friends may call from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. on Monday, June 16, 2008, at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, in Syracuse.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kosciusko County Chapter of the American Red Cross or the Riley Hospital for Children.
