Mary Jane Sheets, 60, a resident of rural Columbia City, died at 11:15 p.m. Friday, July 25 at Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.

She was born April 29, 1948, in Fort Wayne, a daughter of Frank and Mittie (King) Williamson.  Her formative years were spent in Thorncreek Township, where she attended elementary school.  She completed her schooling at Columbia City High School and received her GED in 1966.

On December 31, 1972, she was united in marriage to L. Wayne Sheets.  They made their home in Washington Township.

In addition to being a homemaker, she was a member of Columbia City Congregation of Jehovah’s Witness.

She is survived by her husband, L. Wayne Sheets; two sons, David (Amber) Deckard and Chris (Sabrina) Deckard; a daughter, Jennifer (Doug) Laux all of Columbia City; a sister, D. Pauline Landis of South Whitley; and two brothers, Frank (Joyce) Williamson of Sturgis, Michigan, and Alan (Winnie) Williamson of Columbia City.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and James Williamson, and a sister, Bonnie Myers.

A memorial service will be held a 2:00 pm, Saturday August 2 at the Kingdom Hall – Columbia City Congregation of Jehovah’s Witness, 500 N. Oak Street.  Arrangements are by Smith and Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
