Ethel M. Hearn, 96, passed away, Monday, August 11, 2008 at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Born in Whitley County, she was a self-employed cosmetologist for 16 years, retiring in 1960.
She was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Columbia City Chapter #65 O.E.S., Rebecca Lodge Fort Wayne, and Patriarchs Military Auxiliary.
Survivors include sons, Paul (Evelyn) Hearn of Fort Wayne, Vern (Olivia) Hearn of Portland, Oregon, and Allen (Nancy Nolan) Hearn of Lexington, Massachusetts; daughters, Garnet Burnworth of Fort Wayne, and Avis (Sam) Ostrem of Vancouver, Washington; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe C. Hearn in 1980; son, Dale Hearn; brothers, Oscar and Carl Sheets; and sister, Mildred Updike.
Service is 10:30 a.m. Friday at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road. Calling from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Eastern Star Service 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorials to Cancer Services Allen County.
