Frank Harold Wade, Jr., 85

Frank Harold Wade, Jr., 85, of Noble County, went home to be with The Lord at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 16, 2008 at his home. He was born June 22, 1923, a son of Frank Harold and Mildred Mary (Harper) Wade. His formative years were spent in Wolf Lake. He graduated from Wolf Lake High School.
On January 27, 1951, he was united in marriage to Dorothy A. Barnes. They made their home in the Columbia City area until 1971 when they moved north of Ormas. In 1983, they moved to their present home.
In addition to farming, he was employed at Schuman’s Trucking, Heupel Transport Service, Richard Trucking, Motor Parts & Equipment, Victor Gasket and retired from LML in June 1983.
He was a former member of Columbia City Free Methodist Church where he served as church pianist for 22 years. His current memberships include Ormas Baptist Church and Noble County Farm Bureau.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Dorothy; a son and three daughters, Duane (Lori) Wade, Barbara (Lonnie) Halsey, Brenda Reynolds and Linda (Earl) Bromley, all of Columbia City; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Freshour Starkey and a great-grandson.
The memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2008, at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with Rev. Robin LaRue, chaplain of Heartland Home Health Care & Hospice, officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
