Marie Angeline Lahr, 91, of Huntington, died Thursday, July 31, 2008, at Norwood Nursing Home. 
Born September 14, 1916, in Huntington, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Grace Shideler Pence.
She married Paul Lahr on Oct. 6, 1940; he preceded her in death on Nov. 8, 1988.
She retired in 1981 from the Dietary Department of Huntington Memorial Hospital. She was a lifetime member of Faith Chapel United Methodist, Goblesville. She was active in mission work for the church.
Surviving are her two sons, Jay (Beth) Lahr and Gene (Donna) Lahr, both of Huntington; one daughter, Dorothy (Ray) Bishop of Fort Wayne; two brothers, Carl Pence of North Manchester and Dale (Marjorie) Pence of Columbia City; four grandchildren, Chris (Lara) Lahr, Casey (Hayley) Lahr, Jane (Jason) Allen, and John (Carrie) Bishop; two step grandchildren, Cassie (Kyle), Romine and Mandy (Kraig) Snowden; and seven great-grandchildren; and one step great-grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, D. L. Pence and George Pence; and two sisters, Mae McCombs and Helen Mickley.
The funeral service is 11 a.m. Wednesday at Faith Chapel United Methodist Church, Goblesville, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington. Burial in Shock Cemetery.
