Roderic Charles Boehme, 79, of Columbia City, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, at his daughter's house. 
Born Nov. 21, 1928, in Loyal Hanna, Pennsylvania, he was an Army veteran and member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Churubusco.
He retired in 1989 from Iron Worker's Local 147. Since retirement, he had been working for Teghtmeyer Ace Hardware, Columbia City.
Surviving are his daughters, Bonnie Marie (Rod) Miller of Fort Wayne and Maryann (Jeff) Thomas of Churubusco; a son, John Charles (Wanda) Boehme of Fort Wayne; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Loretta (Wayne) Hook of Knoxville, Tennessee; and brother, Robert Boehme of Waynedale.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Margaret (Barba) Boehme, in 2003; a daughter, Brenda Louise Clem, in 2001; a sister, Alberta Lepper; and a brother, Eugene Boehme.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John Bosco Catholic Church, Churubusco, with visitation one hour prior. The Rev. Father Danney Pinto officiating. Visitation also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, with Rosary recited at 3:30 p.m. Friday. Burial Highland Park Cemetery.
