Stephen R. “Whiskey” Wissler, 59, of New Haven, passed away Saturday Aug. 2, 2008, at his residence.
Born on June 29, 1949, to Robert O. and Imogene R. (Heit) Wissler, he attended North Side High School. He worked at Dana Corp. for 25 years, loved NASCAR and Drag Racing, and enjoyed spending time at the lake.
He was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, life member of the Moose, American Legion Post 330, and member of the Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his companion, Maria Martinz; sons, Troy B. and T.J. Wissler of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Travis, Trent, Trey and Mataya; his mother, Imogene (Mike) Maldeney of Fort Wayne; sisters, Patricia (Frank) Akins of Monroeville, Peggy Lee of Fort Wayne and Cynthia (Steve) Cunningham of LaFontaine; and a brother, Ronald L. (Tess) Wissler of Columbia City.
He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Tim; and a sister, Barbara Jean.
Graveside Funeral Service was held Wednesday at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, 1109 Hartzel Road, New Haven.
