Delores A. "Dee" Brown, 78

Delores A. "Dee" Brown, age 78, of Columbia City, passed away at 9:05 p.m. Thursday, September 4, 2008, at Miller's Merry Manor.

Born on July 28, 1930, in Summerville, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Freeman Alfred and Gladys Mae (Enterline) Thomas.                

She attended Summerville Public Schools and she resided in Summerville until her marriage. On December 21, 1953 she married Donald V. Brown in Indiana, Pennsylvania.

She lived in various Indiana cities including Churubusco, South Whitley, Ligonier and Columbia City.

A devoted mother and homemaker, she was a member of the Lincolnway Church of Christ, Columbia City. 

Survivors include her three daughters, Darlene (Paul) Bockelman and Linda (Jon) Fulton both of Columbia City and Cynthia (Frank) Chance of Orleans, Indiana; two sisters, Arlene E. (James) Smith of Hawthorne, Pennsylvania, and LaVonne R. (James) Martz of Butte, Montana; a brother, Paul Eugene (Norma) Thomas, Brookville, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine E. Thomas. 

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Sunday, September 7, 2008, at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home in Columbia City. Funeral service is at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 8, 2008 at the funeral home with Guy Kesling, a friend of the family and member of Lincolnway Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Annex Cemetery.

Memorials may be given in memory of Mrs. Brown to Camp Indogan or donor's choice of charity.

Dear Linda, Cynthia, and Darlene, so sorry to hear of your Mother's passing. She was a sweet lovely lady; and I will always remember her smile. Please forgive that I cannot attend, but know that I am thinking of all of you. Love Jenyce
