Garnet L. Burnworth, 77, formerly of Columbia City, died at 5:25 a.m. Thursday, September 4, 2008, at Regency Place, Fort Wayne, where she had been a resident since 1997.
She was born December 23, 1930, in Laud, a daughter of Roscoe and Ethel (Sheets) Hearn. Her formative years were spent in Laud. She completed her education at Jefferson Center High School.
She later moved to Columbia City, then New Haven and later Fort Wayne.
Surviving relatives include two sons, Steven W. (Susan) Burnworth of Fort Wayne and Cary (Marilyn) Burnworth of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; six grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; a sister, Avis Ostrem of Vancouver, Washington; and three brothers, Paul Hearn of Fort Wayne; Vern Hearn of Portland, Oregon and Allen Hearn of Lexington, Massachusetts.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Fritz.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, September 8, 2008 at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.
