Elizabeth Ann Lawrence , 91, of Columbia City, died at 4:15 p.m. Thursday, October 9, 2008 at The Oaks where she had been a resident since 2000.
She was born December 20, 1916, in Columbia Twp., Whitley County, Indiana a daughter of John and Pauline (Miller) Perry. Her formative years were spent in Columbia Twp. She graduated from Coesse High School.
On November 25, 1937, she was united in marriage to Robert L. Lawrence. They made their home on Meridian Road, Columbia Twp. for 55 years. Mr. Lawrence died October 13, 2000.
Surviving relatives include a sister, Arliss (Harold) Myers of Columbia City; nephews, Michael Myers and Darwin Zumbrun of Columbia City and a niece Rebecca Burlingham of Missouri.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Hobert, Paul “Dick”, Robert and Dale Perry and a sister, Margaret Zumbrun.
The funeral service was held Sunday, October 12, at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with Rev. James Clifford officiating. The burial was in Eberhard Cemetery.
