Donna M. Anderson, 82, formerly of South Whitley, died at 4:55 a.m. Friday, November 28, 2008 at Timbercrest Home, North Manchester where she had been a resident since May 2005.

She was born March 31, 1926 in Larwill, Indiana a daughter of Levi F. and Ruth M. (Menzie) Barney. As a young girl, her family moved to South Whitley. She graduated from South Whitley High School.

On October 4, 1946 she was united in marriage to John F. Anderson. They made their home in rural South Whitley until moving into South Whitley in 1993. They wintered in Florida from 1986 until 1991. Mr. Anderson died January 2, 2001.

She was employed at General Electric two years, Fox Products and assisted with the operations of Anderson Auto Supply.

Her memberships include South Whitley United Methodist Church and its Helping Hands Circle.

Surviving relatives include two daughters, Cheryl (Danny) Wilkinson of South Whitley and Doris (Stan) Horne of Churubusco; five grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Bonnie Melick and LaVerne Parker.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at South Whitley United Methodist Church, 6685 W. S.R. 14, with Rev. Paul Burris, church pastor, officiating. The burial will be in South Whitley Cemetery. The visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley and one hour before the service at the church on Monday.
