Betty Lou Serafini, 79, died at 3:20 p.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2008, at Ossian Health Care, Ossian, Indiana.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, on March 6, 1929, she was the daughter of John George and Katherina (Johannas) Weigand. She graduated from Pershing High School in Detroit.

On July 22, 1950, she married Arthur Serafini at St. John's Evangelical Protestant Church, Detroit. She lived her entire lifetime in the Michigan area until moving to Indiana in 2001.

An administrative and executive secretary, she worked in the insurance and banking fields.

She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Protestant Church.

Survivors include her son, Gregory A. Serafini, Albion; brother, Robert L. Weigand, Lavonia, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents and husband, Arthur Serafini, preceded her in death.

Visitation was held Thursday at CL Forshee & Sons, Au Gres, Michigan. A graveside service will follow visitation at Sims Cemetery, Au Gres, Michigan.

Arrangements were entrusted to DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, Columbia City.

Memorial bequests may be given in Mrs. Serafini's memory to the donor's choice of charity.
