Edward E. “Mose” Duff, 90

Edward E. “Mose” Duff, 90, of Columbia City, died at 12:45 a.m. Friday, December 19, 2008 at Parkview Whitley Hospital.

He was born December 29, 1917, in Perry County, Kentucky, a son of Ed and Sue (Francis) Duff. His formative years were spent in Perry County.

He worked for Lincoln Coal Company and later Civilian Conservation Corps.

On November 28, 1942, he was united in marriage to Edna A. Daniel. They resided in the Perry County area until 1963 when they moved to Columbia City.

After he moved to Indiana, he worked for Plastic Composites in Fort Wayne for 20 years. Following his retirement in 1983, he began working at Passages until 2002.

He was a member of Freewill Baptist Church.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Edna; two daughters, Mary Sue (Jerry) Spencer of Indianapolis and Patricia (Jack) Horn of Columbia City; two sons, Joe Duff of Columbia City and Harold (Linda) Duff of Brownsville, Texas; seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and a sister, Ella Frances Scott of Owensboro, Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by a son, Edward; three brothers and four sisters.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, December 21, 2008 at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. The burial will be in South Park Cemetery. The visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
