Helen E. Myers Boggs, 98, of Columbia City, died at 12:40 p.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne where she was admitted on Monday.
She was born November 10, 1910 in Green Township, Noble County a daughter of Frank and Anna (McCoy) Shambaugh. She completed her education at Charter Oak School.
On January 4, 1930 she was united in marriage to Paul Myers. They made their home in the Churubusco area. Mr. Myers died September 23, 1972.
In 1970 she moved to Columbia City. She was employed at Whitley County Memorial Hospital for 11 years.
On October 25, 1975 she was united in marriage to Leo B. Boggs. They made their home on East Van Buren Street, Columbia City. Mr. Boggs died April 25, 2003.
Her memberships included Thorncreek Bethel Church of God.
Surviving relatives include three daughters, Lillian Nayadeen Brown of Fort Wayne, Martha A. (Gene) Bohnstedt of Churubusco and Faith Helfrich of Columbia City; 13 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and 25 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, three brothers and four sisters.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 20, 2008 at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. The burial will be in Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam. The visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
