Mary D. Kirkpatrick, 93, of Albion, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008, 11:45 a.m., at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, after a week-long illness.
Born June 22, 1915, in Bryant, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Carrie (Houser) Michael. She had been a member of the Albion community since 1936, coming from Fort Wayne. 
She married Charles Kirkpatrick on Dec. 3, 1954, at Green Center Methodist Church. Mr. Kirkpatrick preceded her in death on Sept. 9, 2008.
She was a retired self-employed restaurant owner, co-owning the Chain O' Lakes Restaurant in Albion.
She was a member of Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Albion and Home Extension Club. She enjoyed reading, bird watching, loved her animals and being with her family. Surviving are children, Sharon (Don) Pequignot of Columbia City, Charleen (Carl) Donley of Fort Wayne, Shirley (Tom) Crist of Rome City, Rich (Shirley) Clouse of Tri Lakes and Michael (Nancy) Clouse of Albion; a daughter-in-law, Linda Carson of Fort Wayne; 14 grandchildren; and 28 great- grandchildren; a brother, Donald (Justine) Michael of Bryant, Indiana; and a sister, Fern Jack of California.
She was also preceded in death by her son, John Carson on Nov. 15, 2008; and brothers, Ronald Michael and Francis Gillispie. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Tuesday at Brazzell Funeral Home, Albion Chapel, with calling from 10 a.m until time of service. Pastor Rob Ferris officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion.
