Amber “Loretta” Goings, 77, of New Haven, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009, at home. Born in Churubusco, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Dollie Gordon. She was a member of Grace Gathering, New Haven.
She waitressed for over 20 years and retired from Don Hall's Restaurant, Georgetown, in 1996.
She is survived by her husband, Dale "Richard" Goings; children, Glenna (John) Martin of New Haven, Gary Tanner of Yoder, Peggy (Wally) Collier of Columbia City, and Ernest Beetham of Fort Wayne; stepson, Richard Goings of Columbia City; stepdaughters, Cindy (Steve) Evans of Corpus Christi, Texas and Debbie (Tom) Goodrich of Columbia City; sister, Naomi Frazier of Churubusco; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Sanford Gordon. A service was held Saturday, January 17, 2009, at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home in New Haven. Pastor Dan Brusco officiated. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.
