Donna C. Aker (Brown), 67

Donna C. Aker (Brown), 67, of Fort Wayne, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2009, at her home.

Born in Dover, Kentucky, she was the daughter of James W. and Elizabeth E. Hale.

She was a waitress with the Rib Room on East State and a former waitress at Hall's Guesthouse, Marriott and Cafe Johnell.

She was first married to Howard J. Aker and later to Alvin Brown. Mr. Brown preceded her in death in 1994.

She was an avid collector of cow memorabilia.

Survivors include her children, Robert (Lourdes) Aker of Pahrump, Nev., Marcy (Leslie) Gaerte of Columbia City, James (Michele) Aker of Kettering, Ohio, and David Aker of Fort Wayne; sisters, Marjorie (Jule) Hale of Leo and Connie (Tom) York of London, Kentucky.; brother, James W. Hale of Orlando, Florida; grandchildren, Carolyn Walker and Ashley Aker, both of Fort Wayne, Adam Aker, Josh (Jen) Willis, Krystal Kreusch, and Donna C. Aker, all of Kettering, Ohio, Robert Aker, Ricardo Aker, Rachel Aker, and Rylan Aker, all of Pahrump, Nevada; nine great-grandchildren; and her former husband and life long friend, Howard J. Aker of Fort Wayne.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Brown, in 1994; and parents, James W. and Elizabeth E. Hale.

Service is 2 p.m. Thursday at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home,
8325 Covington Road
. The Rev. Russell Riley Officiating. Calling is from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to the family of Donna C. Aker (Brown) in care of Marcy Gaerte.
