Robert W. Ewert, 89, of Fort Wayne, died Saturday, January 3, 2009 at the Hospice Home.
He was born December 30, 1919 in Allen County, Indiana a son of Albert S. and Dora B. (Lawrence) Ewert. His formative years were spent in Allen County. He graduated from Lafayette Central High School.
During World War II, he served in the 22nd Bomb Group in the Air Corps.
In 1947 he married Laura Terusser. Mrs. Ewert died in 1969.
He worked at Westlake Plastics in Chester Heights, Pennsylvania while residing in Wilmington, Deleware with his second wife, Martha (Oakes) Pahl. They later moved to Port Charlotte, Florida. Mrs. Ewert died in January 2003.
Surviving relatives include two step children, David (Barbara) Pahl of Iowa and Doris (Cecil) Babcock of Florida; five step grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Noel and Lawrence and a sister, Ruth M. Grodrian.
There will be no visitation or service.
