Joseph C. Shoaff, 85, of Fort Wayne, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009, at University Park Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Born Sept. 3, 1923, in Fort Wayne, he was a World War II Navy veteran and member of VFW Post 857.
He had worked for Slater Steel.
He is survived by a daughter, Tammy (Greg) Hartwig of Fort Wayne; sister, Esther Coleman of Churubusco; and a granddaughter, Nicole Rothgeb of Fort Wayne.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Shoaff, in 2000. A private family service has been planned. Entombment in Covington Memorial Gardens. Memorials to the American Cancer Society and the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements by Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road.
