Kathleen Ulshafer, 66, of South Whitley, died at 9:31 a.m. Friday, February 13, 2009.
She was born April 22, 1942 in Warsaw, Indiana a daughter of John and Irene (McCausey) Paseka. Her formative years were spent in Warsaw. She graduated from Warsaw High School in 1960. 
On March 11, 1961 she was united in marriage to Jack D. Ulshafer. They made their first home in California. Following Jack’s discharge from the Marines, they moved to New Haven for a short time. In 1972, they moved to South Whitley, residing in the present home since 1975.
A waitress for many years, she retired from Dana PTG with 10 years of service. She enjoyed watching the grandkids in their activities, Bingo, Keno and the boats.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Jack; three children, Cindy (Wes) Herr of North Vernon, Teresa (Rick) Cokl of South Whitley and Jeff (Amanda) Ulshafer of Liberty Mills; 10 grandchildren, Janelle Keirn Rhoades, Laura Keirn English, KayLynn Keirn, Nicole & Samantha Herr, Riley & Garrett Cokl, Gavin, Devin & Grayson Ulshafer; two great grandchildren, James & Timothy Herr; and a sister, Leona Izumi of Stockton, California.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Kaye “Missy” Ulshafer; five brothers, John, Phil, Pete, Mark & Carl Paseka; and two sisters, Annie Spencer and Pat Purdy.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley with Rev. Paul Burris officiating. The burial will be in South Whitley Cemetery. The visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
