Mary F. Ross, 95, of Union Township, Whitley County, died at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2009 at her home.
She was born July 27, 1913 in Lagro, Wabash County, Indiana a daughter of Charles A. and Mary E. (Christle) Frushour. Her formative years were spent in Lagro and she graduated from Lagro High School.
On May 5, 1932 she was united in marriage to William Erskine Ross. They made their home in Lagro before moving to Fort Wayne in 1943. In 1949, they moved to their home east of Columbia City. Mr. Ross died November 24, 1989.
Her memberships included First Presbyterian Church and Order of the Eastern Star #65.
Surviving relatives include two sons, James L.(Kathleen) Ross of Clearwater, Minnesota, and Gene L. (Rosalie) Ross of Columbia City; eleven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Frushour.
A private funeral service will be held at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with Rev. Paul Arnold officiating. The burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
