Doris M. Bellinger, 75, of Columbia City passed away at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at her home.

Born on October 14, 1933, in Allen County, she was the daughter of Harvey F. and Mary E. (Bell) Greene.

She graduated from Huntertown High School with the Class of 1952.

On March 29, 1952, she married Robert H. Bellinger in New Haven. He preceded her in death in August, 1987.

A Whitley County resident since 1966, she worked at Blue Bell with 8 years of service, Essex Wire with two years of service and Phillips Diversified Service with 15 years of service all in Columbia City.   

Survivors include her children, Mike S. (Rita) Bellinger of Columbia City; Cindy A. (Garry) Books of Roanoke; Mary C. (John) Phillips of Columbia City; Robert S. (Tamara) Bellinger of Tannersville, Virginia; Kathy D. (Brian) Kelley of Tipp City, Ohio and Chris I. Bellinger of Columbia City; a brother, Charles F. Greene of Altamonte , Florida; 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Bellinger, a sister, Violet McBride, and brothers Alfred and Norman Greene. 

To honor Mrs. Bellinger's request, there will be no visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home.

Graveside service is Friday, March 6, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. at Leo Cemetery, Leo, with Fr. Larry Kramer of St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church officiating.

Memorials may be given in memory of Mrs. Bellinger to the American Cancer Society or Parkview Whitley Home Health & Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
