Eugene A. Katt, 78, of Fort Wayne, was taken into the loving arms of Jesus on Wednesday, March 11, 2009, in Ft. Myers, Florida.
Born September 22, 1930, in Fort Wayne, he served in the U.S. Army and was a graduate of Purdue University School of Pharmacy. He worked as a Pharmacist at Dan Purvis and Hooks Drugs for 40 years, retiring in 1995.
He was also a member of Peace Lutheran Church and John Purdue Club.
He is survived by his wife, Martha (Schwehn) Clapp Katt of Fort Wayne; daughter, Diane (Don) Gotsch of Fort Wayne; two sons, Douglas (Susan) Katt of Salem, Indiana and Ron (Laura) Katt of Fort Wayne; four step-daughters, Lydia Stratman of Columbia City, Lesley (Dr. Tom) Vogel of Fishers, Indiana, Mary (Mike) Burris of Bluffton, Ohio and Molly (Fred) McClure of Fishers, Indiana; eight grandchildren; and seven step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Loretta (Kraus) Katt; his first wife of 50 years, Dorothy (Jenner) Katt, in 2004; and daughter, Linda Katt.
Service is 11 a.m. Tuesday at Peace Lutheran Church, with visitation one hour prior at the church. Visitation also from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Wayne Street Chapel, 420 W. Wayne Street. Burial in Concordia Cemetery Gardens.
