Kellyn Maureen Buis

Kellyn Maureen Buis, age 51, a lifetime North Webster resident passed away at 9:15 a.m. at her residence on Tuesday, March 31, 2009.

Born on December 29, 1957, in Muncie, she was the daughter of Marguerite J. "Peggy" (Sweeney) Buis. 

Kelly grew up in North Webster and graduated from Wawasee High School with the Class of 1976. She completed 18 months of EMS training and was the first woman to serve on the North Webster EMS Department. For the past 25 years, Kelly worked as the controller at Shaffner and Shaffner Enterprises, Inc., Warsaw. She was a member of the North Webster United Methodist Church. 

Survivors include her four sisters, Suzanne J. (Curtis) Shock, Alice E. (Ralph) Luce and Jane A. (Dexter) Shepherd all of North Webster and D. Kimberley (Philip) Smith of Leesburg, Indiana; nephews, Michael P. (Kelly) Shock and Christopher D. (Nikki) Wiseman; a niece, Nicky Buis; grand-nieces and nephews, Adam, Alex and Anna Shock, Emma Buis, Meghan, Nate and Bailey Betz Wiseman, Aden and Caleb Wiseman; niece of the heart, Amy Stafford; grand-nephews of the heart, Riley Betz and Colton Stafford. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marguerite J. "Peggy" Buis who passed away in 2005 and a nephew, Patrick A. Wiseman in 2001. 

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, April 2, 2009 at North Webster United Methodist Church , 7822 E Epworth Forest Road, North Webster. Funeral service is Friday, April 3, 2009 at 11 a.m. with two hours of calling prior to service at the North Webster United Methodist Church . Pastor David Smitley will officiate. Burial will follow at Mock Cemetery , North Webster.
