Mildred P. Kaylor, 80

Mildred P. Kaylor, 80, formerly of Noblesville, died at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at Golden Years Homestead in Fort Wayne where she had been a resident since January 2007.
She was born July 16, 1928 in Caryville, Tennessee, a daughter of William and Nettie (Phillips) Shults. Her formative years were spent in Caryville. She graduated from Jacksboro High School.
On May 7, 1948, she was united in marriage to William E. Kaylor. They made their home in Bonny Blue, Virginia, before moving to Noblesville in 1952. Mr. Kaylor died January 1, 1974.
She was employed at Willet’s Clothing Store in Noblesville for five years, Baxter Medical Supplies and then cleaned houses.
She was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church in Anderson and a former member of Prairie Baptist Church in Noblesville.
Surviving relatives include three children, W. Ronald Kaylor of Eagletown, Jim (Patricia) Kaylor of Fort Wayne and Joy (Melvin) Warrick III of Columbia City; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and a brother, Jack Shults of Nevada, IN.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Bill and Lee; and three sisters, Betty Nix, Barbara Shults and Helen Shults.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with Rev. Ross O’Dell and Rev. Alex Mandura officiating. The visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
The committal service will begin at 3 p.m. Friday at Crownland Cemetery, Noblesville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimers Research Foundation.
