Donna V. McCoy, 78, of rural Columbia City, died Saturday, April 4, 2009.

She was born July 21, 1930 in Thorncreek Township, a daughter of Albion Francis and Mabel I. (Traster) Burns. Her formative years were spent in Thorncreek Township. She completed her education at Columbia City High School.

On April 5, 1947 she was united in marriage to Robert L. McCoy. They made their first home in Columbia City. In 1957, they moved to their home east of Columbia City.

She served as secretary/treasurer of R.L. McCoy, Inc. of which they established the Heavy Construction Company in 1961. Her memberships included St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church.

Surviving relatives include her husband, Bob; three children, Michael (Sandi) McCoy, Marcie (Chuck) Bayman and Mark (Teresa) McCoy, all of Columbia City; and two grandchildren, Margaret (Troy) Hershberger and Daniel (Hillary) McCoy, all of Fort Wayne.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Robert Burns and Keith Burns.

There will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
