Aileen Margaret Dupen, 73, of Columbia City, died of natural causes on Monday, April 20, 2009 in St. Louis, Missouri while attending a ministry training seminar. 
She was born April 18, 1936 in Knutsford, Cheshire, United Kingdom a daughter of George Samuel and Edna (Clarkson) Allsop. She graduated from Altrinchham Grammar School for Girls and completed her nurse’s training at West London Hospital.
On September 5, 1959 she was united in marriage to Clive F.G. Dupen. They made their home in Britain until May 1967 when they moved to the United States. Residing in Rhode Island, San Diego and Connecticut, they moved to Columbia City in 2005 to be near family.
A registered nurse, she worked in hospital and nursing facilities retiring as a home health nurse in Connecticut.
As a member of Grace Lutheran Church, she was active in Choir, Bell Choir, Helping Hands Quilters, Prayer Shawl Ministry and Stephen Ministries. She taught knitting and crocheting at the Whitley County and Elkhart County fairs. She will be missed by many, including the aquafit class members of Whitley County YMCA.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Clive; three children, Barry (Julie Davidson) Dupen of Columbia City, Roger (Rogério Barão) Dupen of São Paulo, Brazil and Stephanie (A.J.) Gooch of Cleveland, Ohio; three grandchildren; two sisters and a brother, Susan Das of Muskegon, Michigan, Thomas Allsop of Punto Fijo, Venezuela and Janet Huddy of Plymouth, England.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Grace Lutheran Church.

Arrangements are being completed by Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
