Rickey L. Barnhart, 56, of Richland Township, Whitley County, was found dead at his home on Monday, May 25, 2009.

He was born August 3, 1952 in Columbia City, a son of John N. and Wilma June (Dilts) Barnhart. His lifetime was spent in Richland Township.

He repaired small engines through the years for several friends and neighbors.

He attended New Hope Wesleyan Church and was a member of Eagles #1906.

Surviving relatives include a brother, LeRoy Redman of St. Cloud, Florida; a sister, Dawn Kilgore of Columbia City; and special friends, Terry & Kathie Ward, David Ball and Patrick Ball, all of Columbia City.

There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lakeview Cemetery, Larwill.

Preferred memorials are to Riley Children’s Hospital.

Arrangements are being completed by Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
